D. L. Mack’s Set to Open in West Village

DALLAS — Hunter Pond’s Vandelay Companies continues its strategic growth with the opening of its third D.L. Mack’s, bringing the beloved Chicago-inspired tavern to Uptown Dallas’ iconic West Village on Wednesday, March 4. The new location will introduce several new menu items alongside signature favorites that have earned a loyal following.

This opening represents another milestone for Vandelay Companies, which has become one of the region’s most influential groups recognized for its eye for great real estate, and unwavering commitment to exceptional food, thoughtful design and elevated guest experience. D.L. Mack’s West Village will take over the former Midici space at 3699 McKinney Avenue, Suite 106.

The restaurant further expands Vandelay Companies’ presence within West Village, joining the recently opened 10th location of Hudson House, with Ten Ramen slated to open later this year. Together, the concepts contribute to a diverse and elevated dining tenant mix that continues to define the development as one of Dallas’ most vibrant mixed-use destinations.

D.L. Mack’s, a Chicago-inspired neighborhood tavern, is known for its crave-worthy cracker crust pizzas and classic American fare. Designed to reflect the enduring appeal of a Midwest-style corner tavern, the space features rich, nostalgic details. The original D.L. Mack’s outpost in Dallas opened in University Park in 2021 and the second location in Preston Hollow in 2022.

“D.L. Mack’s is exactly the kind of neighborhood tavern I’ve always loved — the kind of place that feels familiar the second you walk in,” says Hunter Pond, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Vandelay Companies.

The response from our guests has confirmed what we believed from the start: Dallas connects with that timeless, Chicago-inspired nostalgia. West Village is a natural fit for us — it’s energetic, walkable, and right in the heart of it all. Bringing our third D.L. Mack’s here is an exciting step, and we’ll keep growing the way we always have — thoughtfully and in a way that upholds the Vandelay standard.

The 4,600-square-foot space is a thoughtful throwback to a retro Chicago-style pizzeria, featuring a nostalgic palette of off-white, black, maroon, and kelly green. Pendant lighting blends new fixtures with found Tiffany-style pieces inspired by designs from the 1970s through the 1990s, adding authentic vintage character. Artwork showcases historic Chicago scenes and sports memorabilia from both emerging and established artists, layered with three-dimensional décor to create a dynamic gallery wall. The result is a timeless neighborhood gathering spot that feels playful, casual, and warmly welcoming—true to Chicago’s rich social spirit and family traditions.

D.L. Mack’s West Village will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday through Saturday from 11 am to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Happy hour is daily from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the bar featuring $10 martinis and half-price wine.
