DALLAS, TX – According to the official press release, The Seam, a premier mixed-use development designed to bring luxury, lifestyle, and leisure together in Dallas’ Design District, announces that beloved café and bakery maman will open a location at the property, located at 1444 Oak Lawn Ave. maman is expected to debut in late 2026 to early 2027, coinciding with the highly anticipated opening of The Seam.
Developed by Asana Partners, The Seam officially confirmed it is undergoing a multi-million-dollar redevelopment that will transform the 160,000-square-foot property into a sophisticated lifestyle hub. Designed to serve as both a neighborhood anchor and a destination in its own right, The Seam will feature approximately 45 demised spaces across a carefully balanced mix of upscale lifestyle retail, fashion and design showrooms, elevated food and beverage, and wellness concepts. The tenant mix prioritizes quality, discovery, and experience, creating an environment where life and leisure intersect.

Founded in New York, maman has become a beloved café known for its welcoming atmosphere and French-inspired menu of pastries, coffee, and savory café fare. The concept’s first Texas location opened at The Plaza in Preston Center, quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite for its bright, inviting space and thoughtful approach to classic, high-quality bakery items.

The café operates without reservations and maintains a laptop-free environment, encouraging guests to slow down, savor their meal, and focus on conversation and connection.
The menu balances classic French bakery items with approachable café fare, making it ideal for both a quick pastry and coffee or a relaxed midday meal. Among the must-order items, the nutty chocolate-chip cookie is a standout — perfectly chewy with dark chocolate chips and a satisfying crunch from walnuts, almonds, and macadamia nuts. Croissants and kouign-amann are fresh and buttery, while the Dallas exclusive Salted Caramel Pecan Pie Roll offers a decadent twist with layers of croissant, caramel, and toasted pecans.
For those who prefer something less sweet, the café also serves tender bundt cakes and tea cakes, ideal with coffee or tea. Savory offerings are equally strong. The Cheesy Brisket Croissant Roll - also a Dallas exclusive - blends French pastry technique with Texas flavor, filled with tender brisket, cheddar, and herbs.
