Describe a difficult situation that impacted your business…

Life has brought me wonderful adventure and some big challenges too, and I’m grateful for all of it! I realize it may sound strange to be grateful for a heart attack...but I am. It’s changed me, softened me and made me aware of living more intentionally. We moved to Texas over five years ago for my husbands career and one of my steps away from fear and into living was purchasing and now managing The Morrow House.

Owning my own business has been wonderful, and challenging and trying all at once. We have the joy of hosting guests from all over the world to one of the oldest historical homes in Waco. I love it all...the decor...the guests...the hospitality and sharing our special home with visitors near and far. The Corona Virus has essentially left our home that is typically bustling with people quiet and empty. However, I’m hopeful that this will pass and that better days are ahead.

How are you overcoming this adversity..?

Life is not supposed to be comfortable, it’s intentionally designed for highs and lows so that we will lean into our faith and passions to guide us. Each challenge I’ve faced has taught me a great deal...made me better prepared to love those around me and able to adapt to the things that will surely come my way. I won’t pretend that I don’t battle fear, but I make it a battle, so that I don’t give in too easily.

How has adversity changed how you see yourself, your clients, and the way you do business?

My health challenges have made me acutely aware that no day is promised to us, and as a result I work to be content with what I have and hopeful for what can come. With hope all things are possible.
